Melbourne Collection

Unfortunately, as a result of the highly contagious nature of the COVID-19, it is simply not safe to run our usual market-style Arba'as HaMinim collection evenings. The risk of transmission would be too great if we allowed so many people to come through our doors to touch and inspect every item in the usual manner.

However, even with this in mind, we appreciate that our valued customers do not wish to sacrifice on fulfilling the important mitzvos of Sukkos to the best of their ability.

For this reason, we have arranged that a Rav Hamachshir will check the kashrus and quality of our Arba'as HaMinim for those that wish, this being in addition to the kashrus certificates we always rely on that are provided by the fields in Israel/Italy. The Rav Hamachshir will ensure that the Arba'as HaMinim are sorted and allocated according to their category of Regular, Mehudar, etc. without prejudice.

In Melbourne, our Arba'as HaMinim will be checked and graded under the supervision of Rabbi Moshe Donnebaum.

The options are as follows:

1) Home delivery - $10 flat fee per order

  • upon completion of your order you will be sent a short survey asking for your preferences (e.g. short or long lulav, more yellow or green esrog, smaller or larger esrog etc.)
  • your set/s will be chosen for you, based on your preferences
  • we will arrange for contactless delivery of your set/s to your home prior to Yom Tov

2) Kerbside collection - $5 flat fee per order

  • upon completion of your order you will be sent a short survey asking for your preferences (e.g. short or long lulav, more yellow or green esrog, smaller or larger esrog etc.)
  • your set/s will be chosen for you, based on your preferences
  • you will be invited to book a time for a ‘drive-by’ kerbside collection
  • we will bring your order to you in your car

3) Select my own set* - $10 flat fee per order

  • we will offer a limited number of bookings for those who still prefer to select their own set
  • you will be invited to book a time for selection/collection after Yom Kippur
  • we will require strict adherence to allotted time slots
  • due to COVID-safe protocols, only one person per order may attend (they will be issued with a mask + gloves)
  • cleaning will be performed between time slots as necessary
  • if someone is unwell or required to self-isolate they cannot attend

It is important to emphasise that choosing to select your own set will NOT improve the likelihood of receiving a better set.

Deliveries, collection, and selection will occur so that no one is disadvantaged by their chosen option for receiving the Arba'as HaMinim.

We thus strongly encourage our customers to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to have their Arba'as HaMinim chosen on their behalf, or under the supervision of experienced and knowledgeable Rabbonim - and to feel comfortable to rely on options (1) or (2). This is also the safest way to ensure that we all enjoy a happy and healthy festival of Sukkos.

Please feel free to contact us directly with any questions or feedback comments you may have. For more information about our COVID-safe practices click here.

An email will be sent out to all of our customers after orders close on Erev Rosh Hashanah (18/09/20) with updated details regarding when their Arba'as HaMinim will be available.

Please note: Kerbside collection (Option 2) & Selection (Option 3) will be from a central location in St Kilda East (tba).

*We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a "Select my own set" collection at the discretion of B&H Sukkot.
